At Rivas Restorative Massage, your privacy and confidentiality are important to us. We collect only the information needed to schedule appointments, provide safe massage therapy services, communicate with you, process payments, verify vouchers or promotions, and maintain accurate client records.

Information we may collect includes your name, phone number, email address, appointment history, intake form responses, relevant health information, treatment notes, payment details, Groupon or promotional voucher information, and any communication you send to us.

We use this information to provide services, confirm appointments, send appointment reminders, respond to questions, process payments, verify promotional offers, and meet professional or legal recordkeeping requirements. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We may share limited information with trusted service providers only as needed, such as booking software, payment processors, communication tools, Groupon or promotional platforms, or professional/legal advisors. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect client or provider safety, or to respond to a valid legal request.

Client intake forms, treatment notes, and communication are treated as confidential. However, email, text messaging, online booking platforms, and third-party payment systems may not be fully secure. Please avoid sending sensitive health details by text or email unless you are comfortable doing so.

Client records are retained in accordance with applicable law, licensing requirements, and professional standards. You may request to update or correct your information by contacting us at 412-510-1220.

By booking an appointment or using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy.

Terms of Service

By booking an appointment with Rivas Restorative Massage, you agree to the following terms.

All massage therapy services are provided for wellness, relaxation, therapeutic, and/or pain-relief support within the licensed scope of practice of the massage therapist. Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, or treatment. Clients with medical conditions, injuries, recent surgeries, pregnancy, chronic illness, contagious illness, or other health concerns should consult a qualified medical professional before receiving massage therapy.

All clients must complete an intake form before receiving services. Please provide accurate and current information about your health history, medications, injuries, allergies, areas of concern, and any contraindications. The therapist may modify, postpone, or decline services when necessary for client safety, provider safety, or professional judgment.

Appointments are by reservation only. Appointment times include consultation, intake review, dressing time, hands-on massage time, and checkout as applicable. Late arrivals may result in a shortened session so the next client’s appointment is not delayed. Full payment may still be required for the originally scheduled appointment time.

Groupon vouchers and promotional offers are subject to the terms listed on the voucher, the deal fine print, this policy, and applicable law. Promotional offers may be valid only for the service listed and may not be combined with other offers, discounts, gift cards, memberships, or packages unless expressly stated. Groupon vouchers must be presented at the time of service. After the promotional value expires, any remaining paid value may be applied according to Groupon’s terms and applicable law.

Prices, services, availability, and policies may change at any time. Existing appointments will be honored at the rate or promotional terms that applied at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.

Massage therapy is strictly professional. Sexual, romantic, aggressive, discriminatory, threatening, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. Any inappropriate conduct, comments, exposure, requests, or behavior will result in immediate termination of the session. Payment will still be due, and the client may be refused future service.

Rivas Restorative Massage reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time for safety, professional, ethical, legal, or business reasons.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that schedules change. To keep appointment times available for all clients, please provide at least [24] hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.

Appointments cancelled with proper notice may be rescheduled without penalty. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of $50. No-shows may be charged the full service price and may be required to prepay for future appointments.

For clients using Groupon or another promotional voucher, cancellation and no-show handling will follow the voucher fine print, this cancellation policy, and applicable law. Missed appointments, late cancellations, or no-shows may result in the voucher being marked as redeemed, a cancellation fee, or loss of promotional value where permitted by the voucher terms and applicable law.

If you arrive late, your session may be shortened to avoid delaying the next scheduled client. The full appointment fee may still apply.

If you are sick, have a fever, contagious symptoms, a recent exposure to a contagious illness, or any condition that may make massage unsafe, please contact us before your appointment. We may ask you to reschedule for the safety of all clients and staff.

If Rivas Restorative Massage needs to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you will not be charged a cancellation fee, and we will make reasonable efforts to offer a new appointment time.

Draping Policy

Professional draping is required for every massage session.

Clients will be appropriately covered by a sheet, blanket, towel, or other professional draping at all times. Only the area being worked on will be uncovered, and private areas will never be exposed. Breasts, genitals, and the gluteal cleft remain covered at all times.

Gluteal, abdominal, chest-wall, or other sensitive-area work will only be performed when professionally appropriate, within the therapist’s licensed scope of practice, and with clear client consent. These areas may be worked through the drape or with additional draping as appropriate.

Clients may request changes to draping, pressure, positioning, music, temperature, or areas of focus at any time. Clients may also decline work on any area of the body for any reason.

Any attempt to remove, adjust, or interfere with draping in an inappropriate manner will result in immediate termination of the session. Payment will still be due, and future appointments may be refused.

Informed Consent

By receiving massage therapy from Rivas Restorative Massage, you acknowledge and consent to the following:

• Massage therapy is intended to support relaxation, wellness, stress reduction, mobility, muscle tension relief, and general body comfort. Massage therapy does not diagnose illness, prescribe medication, replace medical care, or guarantee specific results.
• You understand that massage may involve touch, movement, pressure, stretching, compressions, and work on muscles and soft tissue. Possible temporary effects may include soreness, tenderness, bruising, fatigue, lightheadedness, emotional release, or temporary changes in symptoms.
• You agree to communicate with the therapist about pressure, comfort, pain, positioning, draping, areas of focus, and any concerns during the session. You may request changes or stop the session at any time.
• You agree to provide complete and accurate health information before your session, including current medical conditions, injuries, surgeries, pregnancy, allergies, medications, skin conditions, contagious illness, or any other information that may affect massage safety.
• You understand that the therapist may modify, postpone, or decline massage services if there is a safety concern, contraindication, professional concern, or need for medical clearance.
• You understand that professional boundaries are required at all times. Any inappropriate behavior, request, exposure, or sexual conduct will end the session immediately, and payment will still be due.

By booking, purchasing, or receiving services, you confirm that you have read, understand, and voluntarily consent to receive massage therapy under these policies.
